Summary

In partnership with AWORKS, DOES was selected to imagine interactive contents inside the KT5G Olympic Pavilion for the 2018 Winter Olympic Game in South Korea. In a way to promote the new 5G services provided by Korea Telecom, we created four installations at the KT pavilion and one for the KT5G Bus. At the KT pavilion, located in the Olympic Village, the visitor entered via the “Gateway”, a holographic entrance that symbolized the dive into the 5G universe. As soon as they passed the Gateway, the audience arrived in the “Sky Jump”, an immersive room where they experienced the digital journey to the KT 5G City. Inside the KT5G city the visitors could play with the “Diorama”, an interactive mapping projected videos on a 10 square meter mockup, or the “Ice Hockey Challenge", a hockey game with timeslice recorder. In order to tease the Olympics and promote in advance the KT5G, we also create a game experience inside the KT5G bus. This Bus followed the Olympic flame from its arrival on the Korean territory to the Games opening. The game used the 5G network to control a robot arm by hand gesture recognition.
